A Revolution for Lovers

Circa 2020

Today’s political, social and medical scenes are awash with a bizarre mix of new sexual wellness products and conflicting opinions about sexual rights. Whether you are sexually active with others -- or with yourself -- understanding and responding to your body is vital. In many ways, it is necessary for emotional, physical and mental health. Though the “Sexual Revolution'' began in the 1960s, many of us are still fighting for accurate sexual health information and safe sexual wellness products. A mere 60 years ago, American women gained access to the birth control pill. The medication was contested, raising questions about “promiscuity” and “sexual anarchy,” despite the fact it was prescribed to grown, adult women. Just in 2013 did the federal US government remove power from Article 125 of the US Constiution. The Federal Government finally struck the law that made sex between gay, consenting adults a dischargable offense in the military. Similarly, Australia fought same-sex marriage until December 2017, when it was finally legalised and equal benefits were recognised. Still, much is to be done for true equality to be achieved.

Whatever one’s sexual orientation may be, we all deserve to understand their bodies. Today, marks the first day of the revolution! Ouah! A revolution for lovers has begun -- with Frenchie leading the change! Stepping forward to take up the mantle of no sexual wellness product company before it by offering revolutionary products that are fun, healthy, safe and accessible to all. Consider this period in history another “Age of Enlightenment” -- the precursor to the French Revolution -- as we fight for our rights to control -- and enjoy -- our own bodies! Follow below to learn more about the Frenchie Revolution for lovers!

97% of adult americans have had sexual intercourse and 78% have had sex in the last year

Studies have shown that most of us are sexually active -- a whopping 97% of adult Americans have had sex in the last year! A Psychology Today study found that 38% of American women had been sexually en solo during the past year, as had 61% of men. A similar study conducted in Australia from 2012-2013 found that “72 % of men and 42% of women” had engaged in self-love from Oct. 2012 to Nov. 2013. It seems like everyone is getting it on -- alone or together -- so why are we still ill-informed and shamed for embracing our sexuality?! C’est fou!

Despite the fact pretty much everyone needs ‘em, there is yet a stigma around contraceptive and sexual wellness products across cultures. Unsurprisingly, research has found that the majority of American, British, French, German, and Australian adults use these products and medications. Australians -- especially -- are putting safety first. 59% of sexually active Australians between 16 and 45 years old “always use a condom with casual partners.” Unfortunately -- according to one American study -- no matter who you are or where you live receiving basic sex ed might be near impossible -- no matter what age you are. The study explains that learning about safe sexual health practices is “hindered by laws, regulations, policies, and public opposition.” Other recent studies have found that older people across Europe and the US lack solid education. The study reported that “many older Australians lack knowledge of STIs and safer sexual practices." The outcomes of this lack of education have negative “implications for public health.”

It’s clear that we need to push for more sexual autonomy and get that revolution going! As pop singer and feminist activist Alice Bag famously said, “Sexuality is not an inferior trait that needs to be chaperoned!” Non, absolument pas!

Frenchie is bold, loud and unapologetic in its intent to represent as many stripes of people as possible.
